Our European headquarters are based in the United Kingdom. We have offices at Heathrow and Near Maidstone in Kent. We also have a collection point in the West Midlands.

In what countries do you operate?
SMS Time Critical collects freight in all EU and most other European countries. We deliver to any location in Eastern & Western Europe.

How long does it take to get a price quote?
We will respond within 10 minutes by calling us on 0845-8500247 (all calls charged at local rate) or within 30 minutes for an online quotation. To get a quote click the following quotation button.

Can you arrange for shipment collection and delivery during the weekends?
Yes and without surcharges. We are open 24 hours a day 365 days a year, including holidays and evenings.

Is my shipment insured?
Yes. We carry your goods under the CMR convention for all European zone deliveries. All UK deliveries are covered under RHA terms & conditions. Additional insurance can be arranged at competitive rates on request.

How should I inform SMS Time Critical of a change of address?

What size vehicles do you have?
We have the following size vehicles available:

  • Mercedes Sprinter (4 metre)
  • 7.5 tonne (6 metre box)
  • 17.5 tonne (7 metre box)
  • 40ft Trailer (13.2 metre)

Do you combine other customers' freight with mine?
No. When you call us, we arrange for an exclusive-use, appropriate size vehicle to pick up and deliver your freight non-stop, door-to-door. No other customer's freight is on the vehicle. This ensures the fastest, most secure transport.

Is there an additional charge for pickup on nights, weekends or holidays?
We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our rates are the same no matter when you call.

What information do I need to provide when I call to arrange a shipment?

  • Required pickup time and location
  • Required delivery time and location
  • Exact freight dimensions, weight and number of pieces
  • Commodity - whether it's high value or fragile
  • Special handling requirements, such as temperature control

What types of freight can SMS Time Critical transport?
We transport all commodities except the following: household goods, hazardous wastes, money, perishable food items, alcohol, liquor and livestock.

FAQ's Air Charter
Will SMS Time Critical consolidate my goods with the goods of other customers?
No. To keep the possibility of damage, loss or delivery delay to the absolute minimum, SMS Time Critical transports only your goods.

What basic information do I need to supply if I need SMS Time Critical Air Charter to arrange air transport of my goods?

You will need to provide:

  • The required collection date/time and address
  • The required delivery date/time and address
  • Can the goods be broken down to smaller units (i.e. pallet to cartons)
  • Can the pieces be tilted/tipped to ease truck/aircraft loading
  • The number of pieces and the dimensions of each piece of your shipment
  • The weight of each piece
  • The commodity

Do I need to provide special information for helicopter transportation of my goods?
Yes. You will need to provide the latitude, longitude and address (postcode) of the pickup and delivery locations in addition to the basic information required.

If I want to have goods delivered by an SMS Onboard Courier (where the goods remain under the direct control of the courier at all times) are there any limitations to the size and weight that can be accepted?
Yes. Airline regulations permit one piece to be carried as accompanied baggage in the passenger cabin no larger than 55 x 35 x 25 cm (21.5 x 13.5 x 9.75 inches) and no heavier than 10 kg (22 lbs).

Despite size and weight limitations on passenger baggage, can I have goods with larger dimensions and heavier weights delivered by a SMS Time Critical Onboard Courier?
Yes. It is often possible to transport goods with larger dimensions and a greater weight; however, space is subject to prior airline approval. However, the goods will not travel in the passenger cabin and therefore will not be under the direct control of the courier during the flight.

Can I have Dangerous Goods (as defined in IATA, ICAO and FAA regulations) delivered by a SMS Time Critical Onboard Courier?
No Dangerous goods can be carried by SMS Onboard Couriers (as defined in IATA, ICAO and FAA regulations).

Can customs clearance be arranged for my goods on my behalf?
No. Customs formalities are involved for E.E.C. Origin Goods being transported within the E.E.C. (A pro-forma invoice copy should always accompany E.E.C. origin goods being transported within the E.E.C.) However, with prior agreement customs export and import clearance for other goods can often be arranged on your behalf. When booking a shipment with SMS Time Critical, please be sure to ask if this service can be provided for your particular shipment.

Will I be required to sign an agreement confirming my transportation order?
Yes. For air charter and onboard courier transportation orders an agreement detailing your request will be faxed to you for your signature. This signed agreement will need to be faxed back to SMS Time Critical before transportation can take place.
